My wife (see photo above) believes she’s a “tree”
Even though she’s also a lifelong Christian.

Beyond Biblical “Heaven” –
Way beyond –
Beyond the human race and alternative universes populated with radiant angels
And various other large and small “gods”
There’s a land where she wants to become rooted
Along with other trees –
Forests full of them.

One day, deep in such a forest, after expiring as a human being,
She’ll turn herself into a tree –
Smiling –
Yes, trees can smile – just like she does!

Beyond human beings and their spectacular minds –
Beyond “God” and all the subsidiary “gods”
There’s a land towards which she‘s been traveling for some time
Where, physically and spiritually, she’ll take root.

My wife, the gentle, smiling,
“Tree.”
