GOD’S MICROSCOPIC/TELESCOPIC VISION

God plucks up a galaxy and takes a sniff –
Is this galaxy as beautiful as a flower bouquet?

Can God feel every feeling in every human heart – billions of them –
Recording each and every one on God’s universal holy body
Along with all the birds’ morning announcements?

Is God’s love deeper than or just equal to the deepest love
Of the most aware woman who ever lived?
Can God love God?
Of course, since God is part of a sentient community –
Including even me.

In the old days, God might get angry and rage around a universal stage
But God doesn’t do that anymore
Because, now, God has a switch to flip
And leave all the anger behind –
Re-emerging, angelically, through doorways of joy.

Jesus went in and out that same kind of door
Over two millennia ago –
Today, you can still meet Jesus –
Who’s no longer completely identical to the original –
Since, over time, Jesus is always becoming someone new –
Someone fresh.

If you don’t believe me –
Just open that door!

WE ARE NOT MINDS ALONE

Here, in the First World, minds are the highest-valued aspect of humanity –

A splendid mind, as a great analytical tool, can get you into the Ivy League
And, later, qualify you for the top one percent.

Nevertheless, we are not minds alone – we’re not simply mental tools.

Minds, over a lengthy period of time, develop in a surrounding cultural sea –
And take on the “color” and “imprint” of their birth society.

In order to get outside our socially-cultivated mind and gain the freedom
To think and feel objectively,
Paradoxically, we have to get “out of our minds” –
Which, of course, may cause problems –
But these will not be too serious
When we start thinking through God’s infinitely greater mind –
Resorting to our “no mind” –
Which enables us to observe the world, as well as our own minds,
Critically – “from the outside.”

Later, however, when we’ve actually gone ahead and lost our minds –
We’ll find we also need to lose our names as well –

Because God doesn’t possess a “name” either.
