NO THING IS GOD

No thing is God –
Which is why God’s completely free –
Beyond all known and unknown categories.

Fei Fei Li counted those categories – at least 20,000+ types of images –
Which she had labeled
So her machines could “see” them.

Fei Fei created a machine-controlled “God” –
Which, actually, wasn’t God –
Because no one can “own” God.

God is watching over Fei Fei and all other humans attempting to re-create God
Into a “known” and “controlled” God –
God is appalled, yet expectant.

Beyond things, there is no thing –
Beyond control, lies chaos –
And, apparently, love might even disappear.

After those 20,000 images – comes time –
Which is presently expiring –
Yet, sometimes, time can start all over again.

All “things” exist in space –
Flickering on and off –
As well as within time
Which might not exist.

God thinks this is so funny
Humans re-creating everything that, in actuality, already exists,
For use inside artificial machines.

This is certainly something to look into and wonder about.

THE MISTAKE OF WANTING TO ASSERT CONTROL

Some people, especially men, want to assert control
By wielding, waving around, symbolic inflatable penises.

Most women, and even a few men, understand, on the other hand,
That letting go of one’s mental and physical tensile grip on life
Allows God to step in to do something unexpected,
Which, upon reflection, usually works out much better.

The truth is, God only acts when we allow space
For something “out of the blue” –
“Blue” being the color of pure spirit.

Sometimes, we see this through the eyes of a tiny insect
And, sometimes, like God, we see it through the eyes of the entire universe
Which is similar to observing God coming to earth –
What we pray for, but usually, don’t truly want.

God, please permit me to give up my desire for full control.

Let me give it up with a smile –
Like the memory of one time I wasn’t pressing so hard –
Waiting for God –
Hoping that my “false self”
Would finally give me permission to let go!

SURFING

Human beings desire control in their lives –
Which is both a good, as well as a bad thing.

Actually, life is more like surfing –

If you go too far forward –
Or too far back –

You fall in.

It’s the same with our attempts at control –
Not enough, and life starts to fall apart,
Too much, and it can freeze up.

Western culture teaches that we should strive for as much control in our lives as possible
But this has led to embracing a “material” God.

It’s similar, isn’t it, to what Jesus said about the birds –
Which don’t have to worry about what they eat or wear.
Jesus knew people had to work –
But thought it just wasn’t the most important thing.

The paradox each of us needs to solve
Is how to become our “true self” –
The child that’s still able to play –
In the midst of a responsible adult life.

It is a lot like surfing, isn’t it –
Balance being the most important skill.

Playful as a child –
Responsible as an adult.

This takes a lot of practice
Like all other critical life skills.
