SHE’LL HEAR US AND COME

Each of the old religions are fading away
Because, essentially, they’re all male!

Men have taken it about as far as they’re able –
But, now, it’s over –
And time to start imagining the face of God as female.

I’m not talking about any everyday woman
I’m talking about an ideal
I’m talking about a woman able to step beyond Jesus
Who meditates deeper than the Buddha
And who wields the sword of truth more nimbly than Mohammed.

While the entire world is tumbling and crumbling around us
With weird new diseases taking hold all around the planet
It’s time to call out for a new God –
Personified by this ideal female –
Gentle yet brilliant
Beautiful yet profound
Way beyond the boundaries of quotidian male justice.

Her name is and always will be “Love.”

She’s the only hope we have –
The One we’ve been waiting for.

She’ll be the first of a new kind of enlightened being –
An avatar of a spontaneous, deep, love –

If we concentrate all our asking – (and, personally, I’m asking) –
Wherever she is on earth – out there among seven billion people –
She’ll hear us and, hopefully, come right away!

LETS ABOLISH ZOOS – AND PRISONS TOO

Let’s abolish zoos and prisons too.

Who needs to wear business suits inspired by 19th Century Prussian officers?

Let’s get rid of suburban office complexes,
With their marble lobbies and tacky bowling alleys.

Moreover, who needs another Colosseum-style football stadium
Filled only seasonally – and never more than once a week.

Let’s also devalue TV-marketed diamond jewelry –
And especially, magazine ads for expensive Swiss watches.

Let’s get rid of our fleets of gas-powered cars and trucks
Since it’s now realistic to go “all-electric” –
Using natural sun and wind to power our transportation.

Let’s re-orient ourselves toward healthy, holy spiritual “light” –
And truth and beauty, as well.

Let’s fall in love with God all over again –
Especially the God who secretly lives inside our heart.

Let’s decide to be reincarnated, today, as the promised return of Jesus –
Most especially if we’re female.

As the Nike brand says –
Let’s “just do it!”

 

THE REASON THE GODS ARE ALL MALE

The reason the “Gods” have all been male
Is that God is secretly female –
The male myths serving to protect fragile male egos –
Delicate as champagne glasses hurled into stone fireplaces.

Also, the reason men have a need to feel super-male
Is an atavistic fear of returning to the Mother –
Consequently, they’ve been devolving into “cartoon” men,
Slapping one another’s’ backs and butts –
And absolutely refusing to grow up –
Peter Pans on steroids.

As a result, the men, unfortunately, have been getting dumber,
While, at the same time, women, in general, are becoming more intelligent

The men have done this to themselves.

As the women, inevitably, become stronger and freer –
The men have been spending too much time “playing” at being heroic
In computer games and as sports spectators.

When “the purest-hearted girl in the world” finally arrives
And starts explaining everything to us –
The men, hopefully, will start maturing naturally –
And the world, in turn, will be able to breathe a much longed for sigh of relief –

That is, when the men – who understand how to build (as well as destroy)
Eventually relinquish their childish rages and adolescent destructiveness
And start joyfully constructing
Solid homes for all God’s children –

Men and women together.
