HOW TO ACHIEVE “A SECOND LIFE”

As I get older, I feel myself physically fading
But, at the same time, I also have an increasing desire
To spiritually become closer to God.

All life in our expanding universe is flickering on and off –
But God pays no attention,
That is, until God chooses a “light” originally powered by God
And starts paying attention to that.

God’s able to retrieve every single thought we ever thought
Every movement, every breath –
It all still exists – stored away in God’s own Time –
But why would God spend energy
Bringing back someone’s “non-God” activity to life again?

God just wouldn’t do that.

God’s eternally constructing God out of nothing
And so would give “second life” only to human beings
Who’ve been able to participate along with God in this world.

God gave Jesus eternal life
Because Jesus, while still in this world, was able to live as a human being married to God
So everyone could see what that was like.

At his death, as this kind of a human being, Jesus was able to “merge” with God.

Yes, anyone can become a part of God if they really want it
But it takes a lot of intentionality, courage, and intelligence
To achieve.

You don’t gain a second life just by “believing” in Jesus, no matter what Paul said –
You only get this by actually “living like” Jesus,
That is, completely in love with God.

GOD’S ALIVE AND SO HAS THE ABILITY TO CHANGE

If God is sentient – being alive –
God can change.

Is changing now – just as you read this.

God is not an ancient immovable statue placed up on high
To be worshipped –
God continually changes right before our eyes.

Also, God is placeless and so is similar to Nature –
Alive at every level –
Even in our imagination.

God embodies a Spirit that breathes
Like the tides –
Like hummingbird hearts –
Or rain pelting down onto our faces.

God knows what we think
Before that thought ever surfaces into our consciousness.

God understands the beginning – as well as the end –
While cherishing middle lives.

For example, God immediately was aware of my grandchild, Jules –
Before I ever placed a foot on the second-floor staircase –
Before I turned on the whole-house fan –
Before I even asked my wife to be my wife – the first time.

Jules existed way back then –
Centered directly in God’s loving eyes.
