“BORN AGAIN” – AN INFINITE NUMBER OF TIMES

Childhood is the closest most of us will ever get to Christ –
On average, people, as they grow older, become harder, deader in important parts,
And increasingly brittle.

This demonstrates that we may also be moving in the wrong direction spiritually –
So, before we grow any older, we need to consider turning
And becoming more childlike in our souls.

We need to do this without giving up our lifetime of experience –
Retaining our hard-earned maturity.

The joy and light that, hopefully, will start growing brighter in us –
Eventually could even turn into the “twinkle” of a new-born baby –
A few older people have achieved this – think, for example, of the Dalai Lama
Or another mature person with this kind of sparkle that you might already know.

That would, of course, make one the most mature “baby” – ever –
Since, by that time, we’d have experienced being “born again” –
An infinite number of times.

SOME QUESTIONS

What, if anything, exists
Beyond matter, time, energy, and space?

What’s possible to imagine
Outside humanity’s collective memory?

Where should we look
For what’s been lost in the found?

How discover fresh love
In what’s been so long-possessed?

When will we gain courage
To approach the deader aspects in our souls?

The answer is always the same –

In a Holy Celebration!
Upon discovering our “true self” –
That exquisite gift from God described by mystics as

The “pearl”.

NO “THERE” THERE

Everyone sings their own song
If only they can remember it –
Otherwise, they need to hum along with everyone else.

Potentially, consciousness is as open as sunshine –
But, unfortunately, we rely upon pebble words
To let the light in.

“Pebble” because we’ve lost the ability to “play” with words –
Having replaced them with tensile-strength numbers –
So, now, we find ourselves twice abandoned –
Because the mystic words we traditionally used to enhance subjective reality
Have now been transformed into electronic bits.

In the cities, everything has been speeding up
For fear something might get lost –
But this has resulted in lives passing us by with even greater efficiency.

So, our souls are fading,
What am I saying? – our souls have already gone –
Evidenced by the fact that we no longer pray.

So –
Going fast, going slow –
It really doesn’t matter
If there’s no “there” there.
